It's not every day you see a giant reptile lounging on a dessert platter. But in Bangkok, one café has turned this wild idea into edible art.

Vetmon Café in Bangkok is proving that when it comes to cakes, the weirder, the better.

Already known for its outlandish and highly detailed creations, the café recently captured attention for unveiling a hyper-realistic monitor lizard cake.

With intricate "scales", shiny reptilian eyes, a long tail, and even the lizard's iconic forked tongue, the cake is so uncannily lifelike that you'd think twice before poking it with a fork

But yes, it's 100% cake — made with love, layers, and a wild imagination.

The lizard cake looks so real, even locals were shook when it showed up on social media

"This took real skills, it looks so alive," wrote one person. "It looks so similar to the real thing, I don't dare eat this," commented another.

When someone asked about the price, the café replied that it costs THB1,390 (RM178) for a 1lb cake and THB1,690 (RM217) for a 2lb version.

Located in the heart of Bangkok, Vetmon isn't your average café — they've got a reputation for baking weird and wonderful masterpieces

Serving up food and coffee alongside their show-stopping desserts, Vetmon specialises in hyper-realistic novelty cakes.

Past designs have included geckos, bearded dragons, and even rain frogs. And now, they've gone all out with a life-sized monitor lizard.

While most cake artists might stop at just getting the shape right, Vetmon takes it several steps further — adding textures, shadows, and even skin gloss for that eerily realistic finish.
