In the one-minute clip, the influencer who is known for his quirky cooking videos announces the launch of his new series, in which he will make dishes requested by his fans.
For the first episode of the series, Newt made nasi lemak, as per the request of Khalif, a Malaysian fan Newt met in Kyoto, Japan.
"This is the first and last time I'm letting a handsome person be on my page, okay? Do you want to outshine me? I know what you're trying to do, Khalif, if that's even your real name," he jokingly replied to the fan.
Newt then starts preparing the ingredients for his _ayam berempah_, coconut rice, and sambal
He begins by chopping ginger and lemongrass for his ayam berempah, which he then mixes with various spices and seasonings.
While his chicken marinates, Newt begins preparing the sambal by blending several ingredients together, including dried chilli, ginger, red onion, and his key ingredient, sambal belacan.
For the rice, he steamed it together with red onions, ginger, lemongrass, and coconut milk.
After cooking all the components of the dish, Newt shows off his version of nasi lemak, complete with a hard-boiled egg, to the camera, before proceeding to eat it.
Newt also wrote in the video's caption that Khalif's mother told him that preparing the dish would be simple, to which he disagreed.
"Please tell your mom that she's a liar, making this was not easy. My grocery list was 16 items," he wrote.
