Free Ferry Rides In Penang For Hari Raya. Here’s What You Need To Know

Ferry rides in Penang will be completely free for all Malaysians on the first and second days of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which is expected to fall on 21 March

The free rides apply to trips between Sultan Abdul Halim Terminal (PSAH) and Raja Tun Uda Terminal (PRTU), the main ferry route that connects the mainland to the island.

According to Penang Port Commission (SPPP) chairman Yeoh Soon Hin, the initiative is part of an ongoing effort with Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB) to make travelling easier during the festive rush.

Bernama reported that the move also aims to reduce traffic congestion while encouraging people to opt for a more sustainable public transport.

In conjunction with SPPP's 70th anniversary (Platinum Jubilee), they're introducing a 'Kids Go Free | Aidilfitri Special' at the Penang Ferry Museum

From 23 to 25 March, Malaysian children aged 12 and below can enter the museum for free, making it a great post-Raya outing if you're sticking around Penang.

The initiative is also part of a bigger push to position the museum as both a learning space and heritage attraction, especially for younger visitors.
