A Malaysian creator has launched a collection of LEGO-style miniature builds inspired by some of Penang's most iconic landmarks

Called the Penang Cultural Micro Series, Wing Yew captures the soul of Penang's architecture and landmarks in small, minimalist builds that you can complete in an afternoon and display on your desk, shelf, or workspace.

  • Penang Bridge – A mini version of the iconic bridge that connects Penang Island to the mainland.
  • Heritage Shophouse – Inspired by the colourful pre-war buildings commonly seen around George Town.
  • Penang Ferry – A nostalgic tribute to the ferry that has long been part of Penang's transport history.
  • KOMTAR Tower – The tallest building in Penang and a defining part of the island's skyline.

According to the creator, the series was designed as a tribute to the architecture that defines the island, while also creating something simple and collectable.

"All the pieces inside are using genuine LEGO bricks," Wing Yew shared with SAYS. "However, they are not official LEGO sets."

The creator also shared that their Penang Ferry LEGO model is now officially displayed at the Penang Ferry Museum

"It means a lot to see my own creation showcased in a place that represents such an important part of Penang's history," he shared in an Instagram post.

On top of that, two micro-scale ferry models designed by him are now also available at the museum's merchandise shop.
