The widow of Amirul Hafiz Omar, 33, who was killed after being hit by a driver believed to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs in Klang on Sunday, 29 March, is determined to seek justice

According to Bernama, Nor Nadia Abdul Majid, 32, said she plans to take legal action for the sake of her late husband and their three young children — Muhammad Aqif Amsyar, 9, Muhammad Afif Izz Rayqal, 7, and Nur Humaira, 2 — who have now lost their father.

"I will take action. I have to fight for justice for my children. I will sue. There must be a heavy punishment — prison is not enough.

"He has taken a life. I have lost the person I depended on," she said when met at their family home in Kampung Repoh in Perak yesterday, 30 March.

Amirul died in the 11.40am incident after a car driven by a man in his 20s crashed into his motorcycle along Jalan Raya Barat in Klang

The suspect is believed to have been speeding in a Honda City and overtaking several vehicles before swerving into the opposite lane and crashing into Amirul's motorcycle.

The impact threw him onto another car. He died at the scene.

Amirul was laid to rest at the Kampung Repoh Islamic Cemetery just before midnight on Sunday, leaving behind his wife and their three children.

For Nor Nadia, grief now comes with a harsh reality — raising three young children without the man who had been their main source of support

Amirul had been working two jobs to provide for the family, working at a warehouse during the day and as a part-time delivery rider at night.

Nor Nadia said she had also recently taken up a part-time job at a courier company to help lighten his financial burden.

"Now my husband is gone, and my children are still very young. I can only think about my children. They need to grow up, go to school, and get an education," she said, as quoted by Malaysia Gazette.

"God willing, the children understand now (that they have lost their father). After he was safely buried, only did I show them the accident video. They said, 'Mama, papa must've been in pain,'" she added.

Recounting the moment her life changed forever, Nor Nadia said her husband was on his way to buy a mathematics textbook for their eldest child

She said they had briefly communicated via WhatsApp before he suddenly stopped responding, followed shortly by a phone call from the police.

"My husband did nothing wrong. He was just on the road. He was not using his phone and he was not speeding," she said, holding back tears.

She also revealed that a lawyer has since contacted the family and offered to assist them in pursuing legal action.
