Tropical Storm Senyar has caused widespread damage, triggering flooding, landslides, and fallen trees across several states, and has been linked to one death

According to Bernama, Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director-general Datuk Seri Nor Hisham Mohammad said the death was not directly caused by the storm itself, but occurred when a motorcyclist crashed into a fallen tree along Jalan Selandar–Machap in Melaka.

The tree had toppled due to the storm's strong winds.

He added that JBPM has received 49 reports of fallen trees across five states: Negeri Sembilan recorded 33 cases, followed by Melaka (8 cases), Selangor (5), Putrajaya (2), and Perak (1).

He said Negeri Sembilan is currently the worst-hit state by the storm, recording one slope collapse, one structural collapse, and two flood incidents.

Nor Hisham added that although Senyar has reportedly weakened, JBPM remains on high alert as the rain may continue to soften the ground, leading to more fallen trees and slope failures

He also advised NGOs assisting flood victims to coordinate with the Disaster Operations Control Centre for proper monitoring and safety.

"We appreciate the role of NGOs and individuals in assisting with evacuations and logistics delivery, but they must inform the control centre in addition to wearing a safety vest.

"We are concerned that the intention to help may invite other risks. The public is also advised to not to visit risky areas, including recreational locations for bathing," he said.
