A social media post advertising job opportunities for Malaysian doctors to work in Singapore has sparked significant discussion online

The recruitment event seeking medical officers and clinical associates was reportedly shared on Threads by Dr Amanda Elli, a medical doctor and health influencer.

She described the opportunity as a promising way for Malaysian doctors to build their savings.

"Singapore's MOH is coming directly to Traders Hotel, KLCC to interview GPs and doctors interested in working abroad.

"It's such a great opportunity to gather savings for at least two years and then come back to Malaysia if homesick," she wrote.

According to her post, the offer includes a basic salary of SGD110,000 per year (approximately RM365,000), excluding additional benefits

These benefits allegedly include a monthly accommodation allowance, one-time relocation support, overtime pay, bonuses, flight tickets, insurance, and various leave entitlements.

The recruitment poster stated that all Malaysian medical graduates are welcome to apply, including those who did not graduate from Universiti Malaya (UM) or Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Candidates must be Malaysian citizens with a basic medical degree.

The recruitment event is reportedly scheduled for August and organised by Talent Angels, a recruitment agency authorised to recruit healthcare professionals for Singapore's Health Ministry (MOH).

However, no official details or related posts could be found on the agency's website or social media accounts at the time of writing.

The post by Dr Amanda, which has since been removed, quickly gained attention — generating both interest and concern over Malaysia's ongoing brain drain of healthcare professionals

"Take that. They're coming straight to KL to recruit our doctors now," one user commented.

"It's only a matter of time before all our doctors leave — too much pressure and poor pay here," wrote another.

"Besides doctors, are there openings in other medical fields? Pharmacy? Dentistry?" another questioned.

Senator Dr Lingeshwaran Arunasalam told FMT that Malaysia should take Singapore's recruitment efforts seriously, as it could further strain the country's already pressured healthcare system.

When contacted by BFM News, Malaysia's MOH said it is currently looking into the matter.

Meanwhile, SAYS has reached out to Dr Amanda and Talent Angels for comment but has not received a response.
