METMalaysia Issues Continuous Rain Alert For 6 States From 5 To 8 December

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) has issued a continuous rain warning for the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, as well as Sabah and Sarawak, from 5 to 8 December
In a statement today, 3 December, METMalaysia said continuous heavy rain is expected in six states from this Friday to next Monday.
Rain is forecast to begin in Sabah (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, Sandakan, and Kudat) on Friday, before moving to Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Bachok, and Pasir Puteh), Pahang (Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin), and Terengganu from Saturday.
From Sunday, heavy rain is expected to affect Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru) as well as parts of Sarawak, including Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Pakan, Meradong, Sibu, Selangau, Mukah, and Bintulu.

METMalaysia also issued strong wind and rough sea warnings for coastal areas and marine activities in the South China Sea during the same period
In a separate statement, it said northeasterly winds of 40 to 50km/h with waves reaching up to 3.5m are expected over waters off Eastern Johor, Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan, Sabah, and Sarawak from Friday to Monday.
The department warned that these conditions are dangerous for small boats, sea recreational activities, and water sports.
