A Malaysian's Reddit post has gone viral after he shared his frustration over being charged RM16 for mac and cheese that came with just one slice of cheese
In a post on Sunday, 19 October, the man said he bought what he described a "garbage" plate of mac and cheese from a stall at a food court in Putrajaya.
The customer's fiery post, a mix of humour and frustration, slammed the vendor for the meal's poor quality and lack of effort, calling it a prime example of daylight robbery.
"This isn't doing business, devil… Even vendors at viral food fests would bow down to you after seeing you rip off customers like this.
"You sneakily grabbed a nice picture for the menu, but when it comes to serving, you put zero effort into making it look appetising. Why? BECAUSE PEOPLE PAY IN ADVANCE.
"If it were up to me, I would have thrown it in your face. But in this economy? That's RM16 I won't get back, dude. So I grit my teeth and ate it. Damn it," he wrote.

The man also drew a hilarious comparison between the saltiness of the dish and the water from the Strait of Malacca
"Your sickeningly salty food. Did you dry up the Strait of Malacca for the salt you dumped in here, you devil? Next time, just name it Mac n' Salt or something, you brute.
"Just so you know, I'm from Melaka, okay. The mother of tourist traps in Malaysia. Expensive viral food that tastes like trash is standard. But f**k, this is on another dimension, damn it. Even Bin Laden would quit seeing this kind of terrorist."
He wrapped up the post by sarcastically advising the vendor to stick to selling instant noodles and 3-in-1 coffee, before signing off with a cheeky pantun (Malay poem):
Kapal dagang dari seberang, sarat muatan kayu meranti,
Takdelah jauh mana aku datang, tapi yang aku dapat sakit hati!
(A trading ship from across the sea, loaded full with wood of meranti trees,
I didn't come from far, you see, but what I got still wounded me!)

At the time of writing, the Reddit post garnered over 18,000 upvotes
Speaking to SAYS, the man said the mac and cheese underneath the slice of cheese did not appear to contain any actual cheese, as it lacked the usual stringy texture when scooped.
"[I think] it was just pasta in white cream sauce. It was just salty," he said when contacted.
