Malaysian Passport Ranks Third Most Powerful In The World

The Malaysian passport has been ranked the third most powerful passport globally, according to the 2025 Passport Index

In a Facebook post on 5 November, the Malaysian Immigration Department highlighted that our country's passport continues to hold a top spot in international rankings.

According to the Passport Index, Malaysian citizens enjoy visa-free travel to 174 countries worldwide.

"This achievement reflects the international trust and recognition of the security and integrity of Malaysian travel documents," the department said.

The Passport Index evaluates the strength of passports based on how many destinations their holders can visit without obtaining a visa

The United Arab Emirates tops the list with visa-free access to 179 countries, followed by Singapore and Spain in second place, each granting entry to 175 countries.

Malaysia shares third place with 15 other nations, including Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Luxembourg, Italy, Denmark, Portugal, Switzerland, Greece, Austria, Norway, Ireland, and South Korea.
