Judges in Malaysia will see a 30% increase in their monthly salaries starting 1 January 2026, marking their first adjustment since 2015
According to the New Straits Times, under the revised pay structure, the Chief Justice will earn RM46,800 per month, while the Court of Appeal president's monthly salary will be RM40,950.
The Chief Judge of the High Court of Malaya and the Chief Judge of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak will each receive RM39,650 per month.
Federal Court judges will earn RM37,050 per month, Court of Appeal judges RM35,750 per month, and High Court judges RM34,450 per month.
The changes were gazetted under the Judges' Remuneration (Amendment of First and Fifth Schedules) Regulations 2025, published on 24 December by the Attorney-General's Chambers.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim first announced the pay hikes during the tabling of the 2026 Budget in October
He highlighted that judges do not receive annual salary increments like other civil servants and are not permitted to hold other positions or engage in business.
Anwar said the salary increase reflects the government's recognition of the judiciary's growing credibility, integrity, and independence.
