The parents of Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yu-hsin will not be travelling to Malaysia to manage her posthumous affairs due to health issues and disabilities

Instead, they have appointed a representative and arranged additional security to handle matters on their behalf, according to media reports.

Hsieh, who was also known as Iris Hsieh or the "Nurse Goddess" due to her nursing degree and risqué dressing style, was found dead in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur on 22 October.

The case has since been reclassified as murder, with police still awaiting post-mortem and toxicology results to determine the cause of her death.

Her social media manager, who asked only to be referred to as Chris, told China Press and the BBC that the family's decision was made out of concern for their health and safety, and not due to a lack of affection or responsibility.

"I know many will find it hard to accept this reality, but I believe those who understand Hsieh's parents will understand, it is not because the parents do not love her; rather, they really love her," Chris was quoted as saying.

Hsieh rose to prominence around 2019 and was known for her modelling content on social media. She launched an OnlyFans account in 2022.

China Press separately reported that an unknown individual recently attempted to impersonate a member of Hsieh's family to claim her remains.

The person was turned away after their story could not withstand police and hospital questioning, including inconsistencies in their claims and a surname that did not match Hsieh's.

No further details have been released regarding the individual's identity or motive.
