“My Son Was Lured Into A Trap,” Claims Mother Of Johor Man Killed In Broad Daylight

Police have launched a manhunt for three suspects.

A 38-year-old man died after he was allegedly attacked by three men armed with parangs in Tangkak, Johor on Saturday, 14 March

According to Harian Metro, Tong Wei Sheng was reportedly lured to a local restaurant for a meeting before the fatal incident.

His mother, who wishes to be known only as Kim, believes the encounter was a calculated trap to end her son's life.

"I feel they had planned to do this," the 62-year-old said during an interview, adding that the she remains steadfast in her pursuit of the truth.

"My family will not stay silent and will demand justice for my son," she said.

"On the day of the incident, my son told family members he wanted to go to the restaurant because he wanted to meet someone," Kim said

While at the restaurant, Tong sent a final message to his family stating: "All OK, nothing is happening."

Shortly after, three suspects chased him towards a house at Batu 9 in Bukit Kangkar, where he was brutally attacked.

Residents nearby reported hearing a commotion shortly after breaking fast and found Tong lying in a pool of blood.

He was rushed to the Tangkak Hospital in a pickup truck but was confirmed dead upon arrival.

Tangkak district police chief Roslan Mohd Talib confirmed that police are actively searching for the three men

The suspects allegedly fled the scene in a white saloon car.

"Efforts to track down and arrest the suspects are ongoing," Roslan said, noting that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
