Four Form 5 students accused of being involved in the alleged gang rape of a Form 3 student at a secondary school in Alor Gajah, Melaka have been expelled with immediate effect

According to Berita Harian, Education Director-General Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad said the decision was made by the ministry's Lembaga Tata Tertib Sekolah, which convened earlier today, 13 October.

Meanwhile, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said assured that being under 18 does not exempt students from legal action

She said the suspects would face appropriate punishment under existing provisions of the Penal Code if found guilty.
