At Floccusfloccus in Petaling Street, someone had the genius idea to turn the anonymous fish extras from SpongeBob SquarePants into angku kuih

And the result is gloriously unwell.

They're called Bikini Bottom Buddies, and yes, they look like they've witnessed every chaotic episode and aged 20 years because of it.

These kuih aren't shaped like SpongeBob or Patrick, but like Flat Fish and Limp Fish you always see reacting in the background

You know the ones. Flat face, huge eyes, permanently traumatised expressions. Always making brief cameos looking clumsy, confused, or like they just clocked out of a retail shift.

Floccusfloccus brings them to life in two dark chocolate-filled variations

Both go for RM12, come in extremely limited batches, and are made to order by hand. The texture is said to be soft and chewy, just like your regular angku kuih.

They need to be eaten on the day you get them, so don't bother hoarding. These fish don't freeze well, emotionally or physically.

Floccusfloccus is KL's reigning queen of funky pastries and desserts

From siew yoke kuih lapis to adorable goldfish chai kuih, this café is known for turning nostalgic snacks into edible characters with personality.

You can pre-order the angku kuih by dropping them a message on Instagram

Check out their Instagram here.
