Deciding where to go for Christmas dinner can get pretty confusing, given the countless offerings available in the Klang Valley

Keeping it simple, Naj & Belle Bangsar has unveiled a concise festive menu for those who want proper Christmas flavours packed into every bite, without ever feeling overwhelming.

We recently had the chance to sample every single item on the festive setlist. Here's what we thought:

(Each item serves 1 to 2 pax)

1. Swedish meatballs with brown sauce and cranberry jam, truffle mash, garlic confit, fresh greens (RM45)

This dish evokes the comforting warmth of a family dinner, elevated with festive feels. The springy and juicy meatballs paired nicely with the brown sauce and cranberry jam (individually or together), while the truffle mashed potatoes act as a velvety base.

If you're looking for something that hits the spot, this one does the trick.

2. Miso capellini with seared scallops and torched tiger prawn (RM45)

Perhaps the most unorthodox dish on the menu when it comes to Christmas vibes, this pasta was creamy, full of bite, and bursting with ocean flavours thanks to a miso reduction that doubled as a shellfish bisque.

The kitchen's choice of capellini as the sauce carrier was also clever, as its light, silky texture contrasted nicely with the rich seafood-y umami.

3. Slow-cooked beef and portobello pot pie (RM40)

A hearty pie is often the cornerstone of a proper Christmas dinner, and this one checks all the relevant boxes.

Served in a mini cast-iron skillet, the pie featured a flaky top crust, tender chunks of beef, and flavourful gravy to tie all of it together. Will please anyone hankering for beefy flavours this season.

4. Smoked spring chicken, truffle and rosemary potatoes with balsamic and parmesan salad (RM56)

Traditionally, a Christmas dinner isn't complete without roast fowl, and this one makes for a great sharing option for two (or even for one with a bigger appetite).

The spring chicken's smaller size meant it stayed juicy and succulent throughout, with hardly any dry bits, while the accompanying roasted potatoes offered subtle herby undertones that balanced the flavours quite nicely.

To keep our palates refreshed, the menu also featured three festive beverage options to satisfy every kind of craving

For something light and refreshing, the Pomegranate Kiss (RM18) is made from a tasty mix of shaken pomegranate tea, strawberries, and rose.

For a mid-meal caffeine fix, the Mocha Float (RM20) combines an espresso shot with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate drizzle. Think of it like a dumbed-down affogato with a carefree holiday vibe.

The final drink — the Merry Berry (RM23) — felt more like a proper dessert (thanks to its oat-milk-vanilla-ice-cream combo) and tasted like an elevated strawberry milkshake. Great as a post-meal finisher or a slow, decadent sip throughout the meal.
