The World's 50 Best Bars recently released their highly anticipated list Asia's 50 Best Bars 2025

Four standout Malaysian bars made the cut in this year's list, and we couldn't be prouder.

Leading the local pack is Penrose KL at #10, followed by Three X Co at #15, Bar Trigona at #39, and Reka Bar at #47.

Penrose KL keeps the crown as Malaysia's top bar at #10 in Asia and #98 in the entire world

The iconic bar once again clinches the title of Best Bar in Malaysia, standing proudly in the Top 10 at #10 of the list (after ranking at #8 last year).

Housed in a sleek space on Petaling Street and led by Jon Lee, the bar focuses on functionalism and intentional service where you'll find yourself sitting at the bar for hours, having those immersive drinking conversations.

This bar is known for banger cocktails like the Makopa Martini, thanks to a philosophy that revolves around five pillars: Alcohol, flavour, taste, body, and dilution.

The team also launched Lavantha this year, a secretive sister speakeasy hidden in a refurbished bank vault at Moxy Kuala Lumpur Chinatown. A perfect addition to your travel list.

Three X Co leaps into the spotlight at #15 on the Asia's 50 Best Bars 2025 list

After landing at #56 on last year's extended list, this sleek Bangsar gem has rocketed into the main rankings.

Quietly perched on the third floor of Bangsar Shopping Centre since 2017, Three X Co has pretty much always been on the radar, having a placement in this list in 2021 as well (at #47).

Much of that magic comes from head bartender Amanda Wan, who joined Three X Co after stints at Hong Kong's Quinary and top bars in New York and Singapore.

Her Indi V Duality cocktail menu features playful twists on classics, like the lychee-infused Whimsy Wabbit and pandan-pink Ayu Ayumi, combining nostalgia with innovative mixology.

Bar Trigona, the Four Seasons KL's signature bar, secures its sixth straight appearance on the list with a #39 rank

Fun fact: It was the first Malaysian bar ever listed globally in 2020 (at #44) and even earned the Siete Misterios Best Cocktail Menu Award in 2022.

Under head bartender Darwin Ng, Trigona is also driven by sustainability, with honey and local produce in every cocktail.

Reka Bar, located in Bukit Damansara, reclaims its spot at #47 in the list after debuting at #41 in 2024

This sleek bar is known as a "post-modern flavour lab" since it blends chill lounge atmosphere with mixology techniques like infusion, clarification, and distillation.

Head bartender Joel Poon treats every serve like a mini science experiment. Complex on the tongue but accessible in style.

That's not all. Asia's 50 Best Bars 2025 has an extended 51-100 list and features two more Malaysian bars.

Ranked at #64, we get to shout-out another bar but this time, from Penang. Named Backdoor Bodega, this bar is the second Malaysian bar to win the Siete Misterios Best Cocktail Menu Award.
