Laufey has finally clarified how to pronounce CHAGEE, and chances are, you might have been saying it wrong
In a short video shared on the tea brand's social media pages, the singer gives a quick pronunciation guide after noticing that people have been calling the brand by all sorts of names.
The caption reads, "How to pronounce CHAGEE, from someone who gets it — @laufey (lay-vay)."
In the clip, Laufey explains that many people have been pronouncing the name in different ways, from "cha jee" to "chaw gee" and even "chu gee"
But according to her and the Yunnan tea house, the correct way to say it is simply:
"CHA-JEE."
With CHAGEE expanding rapidly across Asia, including Malaysia, plenty of customers have been taking their best guess at how to pronounce the name.
Some go with "chaw-gee", others say "cha-gee", and a few even try "sha-gee".
So Laufey's quick explanation basically settles the debate once and for all.
