In a city full of busy cafés and background playlists, a new spot in Kuala Lumpur is inviting people to slow down and really enjoy the music

Located in Chow Kit, Listen HiFi Cafe is a vinyl listening café where guests can browse through records and book dedicated listening sessions with turntables and headphones, all while sipping on coffee and other drinks.

Unlike regular cafés that play music in the background, Listen HiFi Cafe is built specifically for focused listening

Located on Level 3 at Jalan Kamunting, the space features 13 vinyl listening stations, each equipped with closed-back over-ear headphones and an Audio-Technica turntable.

Guests can browse through more than 100 vinyl records (a collection that's still growing) and pick what they'd like to play during their session

The collection covers a wide range of genres, from indie, R&B, hip hop, pop, alternative, and shoegaze to instrumental and orchestral recordings like the Studio Ghibli Philharmonic and Past Lives OST.

The café's collection includes cult classics such as Madvillainy, AM, IGOR, CTRL, and After Hours, as well as contemporary artistes like The Marías, PinkPantheress, Mitski, Laufey, and Cigarettes After Sex.

Each listening session lasts 90 minutes and costs RM25 per person, which includes access to the listening setup and record collection.

Each station can accommodate between one to four guests, making it suitable for solo listening or small groups.

Another nice bonus is that the café is located with a direct view of KL Tower, adding to the relaxed atmosphere while you enjoy some much-needed 'me time' while spinning records.

Alongside the music, the café also serves a curated selection of drinks and light bites

Coffee starts from RM9, covering classics like Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, and Flat White.

For something different, there's also matcha, hojicha, or chocolate drinks, served hot or iced, or indulge in signature creations like Matcha Strawberry and Coconut Matcha Cloud.

If you're skipping coffee, there's a fun lineup of mocktails including Black Yuzu, Soleil Bleu, Shirley Temple, and Tunku Sunrise, or classic teas like English Breakfast, Earl Grey, and Chamomile. A small selection of pastries is also available to pair with your drink and vinyl session.

Guests can place their first order during check-in before the listening session begins. Additional drinks or food can be ordered during the session via a QR code at the table.

Reservations are recommended for the 90-minute sessions

To maintain a calm and comfortable environment, the number of seats per session is limited. Walk-ins are welcome depending on availability, though reservations are recommended during peak hours.

Guests are encouraged to arrive about 10 minutes before their booking to check in and settle in before the session starts. Disposable headphone covers are also provided for hygiene purposes.
