Just opened in April, Bored. Games Café is a cosy spot near Atria Mall that feels like walking into a friend's sleepover

You know the kind: mismatched pillows on the floor, endless snacks on standby, and someone always yelling "wait wait I forgot the rules" mid-game.

No sterile, echoey café lighting. Just homely vibes, a comfy setup, and board games stacked like Jenga towers along the walls.

We recently paid a visit and… let's just say, between the nostalgia, the snacks, and the slightly-too-competitive rounds of Poetry for Neanderthals, we kind of didn't want to leave.

They've got over 150 board games (plus Nintendo and PlayStation for the console fans)

Some of the games include Catan, Ticket To Ride, Dixit, Saboteur, Coup, and even Malaysian-made HR The Toxic Workplace Game, along with other locally created gems.

If you're in a bonding mood, Poetry for Neanderthals is chaotic but surprisingly therapeutic. We had way too much fun screaming at each other.

They also have heavier strategy games like Gloomhaven and Dune Imperium Uprising if you want to spend the next six hours plotting intergalactic betrayal. Up to you.

And don't worry if you've never played any of the games before. Just wave down a staff member, and they'll gladly walk you through the rules.

As for video games, there's a Nintendo and PlayStation setup, including EA Sports FC 25 for the FIFA fans who need their daily dose of serotonin

You can book a private room with your own TV screen for RM300 (comes with drinks)

Honestly, if you've got a chaotic group chat that's always "planning" a hangout, this one's for you.

The private room fits 10 pax and includes two jugs of drinks, for either two hours (RM300) or four hours (RM380).

Considering the cosiness, privacy, and game variety, it's great for birthdays or impromptu reunions.

If you're not fussy about privacy, the main space has plenty of tables to comfortably fit four to 10 people

From time to time, Bored. also hosts themed events at their space

One of their most popular ones so far is a private dining experience combined with a full-blown murder mystery.

People actually dressed up Bridgerton-style for their last session, Deaths & Debutantes, which included corsets, scandals, dramatic gasps, and all. They've already hosted two rounds, and both sold out fast.

There are more fun events coming up this month and next, so if you're into the idea of eating, acting, and accusing people of murder in polite society — keep your eye on their socials.

The meals, delivered from the café downstairs, were not too shabby. And by that we mean no complaints, just full tummies and clean plates.

You'll find pasta, truffle fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken chop, and even cake of the day — all priced between RM18 and RM35.

The cake was just okay for me, but my colleague inhaled it.

The all-day pass costs RM30 (from 10am to 12am)

If you're the type to fully commit to a board game and emerge three hours later with a new enemy and mild dehydration — the RM30 all-day rate is your golden ticket.

But if you're popping by for a short session:

  • Two hours = RM25
  • Extra hours = RM10 each

TBH, the RM30 all day ticket just makes more sense.

And if you're feeling extra (company bonding, bridal shower, birthday party), you can book the entire space for:

  • RM1,500 (Monday to Friday, before 5pm)
  • RM1,800 (after 5pm, weekends, and public holidays)

That includes usage of the stage and projector for up to 40 people. Honestly? Could be cute for an office party or mini event.

Wednesdays are open to remote work corporate slaves: RM20 with free flow coffee or tea.

No pressure to game, but it's nice knowing you can reward yourself with a cheeky round of Qwirkle after replying to that one stressful client email.

Overall, it's a wholesome spot to unwind with colleagues, friends, or family after a long week. Go for the bonding time — and maybe leave slightly suspicious of each other thanks to all the lying games. 😛
