Father Handmakes Labubu For Daughter After Viral Toy Sells Out Online

"The rarest edition of Labubu in the world — a one-of-a-kind made with fatherly love."

A father in China has captured hearts online after handcrafting a Labubu-inspired doll for his daughter when she couldn't get her hands on the viral toy

Douyin user @美团骑手0516 from Jiangsu province shared a touching video of her father carefully making the doll from scratch after he heard about her disappointment.

"This is what happened when I couldn't get a Labubu from the official website. I asked my dad to make me one," she wrote in the caption.

To avoid any copyright issues, she jokingly dubbed the creation her very own "Lababa".

The video shows her father meticulously cutting and sewing, doing an impressive job recreating the doll's iconic features

The final result was a grey, handmade version of Labubu with rainbow-coloured eyes, which the daughter proudly displayed on her tote bag

Many Internet users praised the father's dedication and craftsmanship, with some even saying his handmade doll looked better than the original

"This is the rarest edition of Labubu in the world — a one-of-a-kind made with fatherly love," one Douyin user commented.

Another added, "This one's worth more than the original."

In response to concerns about copyright infringement, the daughter clarified that she fully supports genuine products, and emphasised that the homemade doll is for her personal use only, not for sale.

In earlier videos, the Douyin user also shared that her father only recently learnt to use a sewing machine in a business course, and has a fondness for cute things and has since started making his own toys.
