A hilariously grumpy cat in Thailand is stealing hearts online after a run-in with the police

On 9 May, Police Lieutenant Parinda Yukol Pakeesuk, fondly called 'Inspector Da', of Bangkok's Khlong Tan Police Station, humorously posted on Facebook searching for the owner of a very unhappy-looking cat in his possession.

He said that a kind passerby had found the cat around Pattanakarn Soi 25 in the Suan Luang district and handed her over to the police.

Unfortunately, he said the cat didn't appreciate the gesture — she reportedly tried to bite several officers during her stay.

With no owner coming forward right away, Inspector Da said he had to take her home for the night.

But it was clear she wasn't thrilled about that either.

In a follow-up post on 14 May, Inspector Da updated that the cat's owner had contacted him to retrieve her

He found out that the cat's name is 'Nub Tang' which according to Khaosod English, translates to "count money" — and dressed her up for the reunion.

However, before the handover, Inspector Da hoped to teach the cat one last lesson for running away from home

He jokingly made the cat 'sign' a document with her paw prints, stating that she was being released on bail after being 'charged' with assaulting a police officer, and even took a 'mugshot' of her.

The warning read, "We must prosecute this case so other cats won't follow this behaviour".

You could say, she didn't look too happy.
