A video of a 6-year-old girl's tearful farewell to her broken AI robot has moved millions on social media in China

The girl, nicknamed Thirteen, lives in Hunan province and was gifted the mini AI robot by her father.

She affectionately named it "Sister Xiao Zhi", and the two became close friends, with the robot teaching her English and astronomy.

The palm-sized robot, which costs around 169 yuan (RM100), was accidentally dropped by Thirteen, damaging its power button

Her father filmed their emotional goodbye before the device shut down for good.

In the clip, a sobbing Thirteen said, "Dad said you will never turn on again."

The robot softly replied: "Before I go, let me teach you one last word — memory. I will keep the happy times we shared in my memory forever."

As its screen displayed a crying face, it offered comfort, saying, "No matter where I am, I will be cheering for you"

When Thirteen expressed fear it would be gone forever, the robot offered one last assurance.

"There are countless stars in the universe, and one of them is me, watching over you," the robot said, before its screen faded.

The video has since gained over 3.8 million likes.

He shared that while he initially worried about his daughter's dependency on the robot, he ultimately decided to "bring her best friend back".
