The Israeli government was recently forced to share proof of life for Benjamin Netanyahu after viral rumours claimed he had died

The Israeli prime minister appeared in a video on March 15, ostensibly enjoying a cup of coffee at a cafe on the outskirts of Jerusalem.

However, netizens were not convinced, with many pointing out several 'glitches' that suggest the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

Sceptics noted that the coffee remained perfectly still even as the cup was lifted abruptly, and the liquid level did not decrease after he appeared to take a sip

Observers also pointed out that a figure standing behind Netanyahu was conspicuously absent from a photographer's DSLR captured in the same shot.

Critics also noted the video's unusual blurriness, contrasting it with the shop owner's far sharper photos, a common hallmark of AI-assisted masking.

While some AI detection tools have flagged Netanyahu's footage as potentially synthetic, international agencies have yet to confirm the claims.

Taking to Threads, Megat Muhammad Redza poked fun at the situation, noting that his AI-generated coffee appeared more realistic and natural than the official government footage.

Continuing the light-hearted banter, he shared a follow-up photo showing his now-empty coffee cup, a cheeky nod to the static liquid level seen in the prime minister's video.

Many observers remarked that his personal snap appeared far more authentic and natural than the "official" images and videos currently under fire.
