At a glitzy gala celebrating five years in the local market, HONOR Malaysia pledged to double down on its role in Malaysia's digital architecture

Communications deputy minister Teo Nie Ching noted that digital technology has made daily life more efficient, connected, and convenient.

"This is precisely why initiatives such as HONOR's RM133 million participation in the Pakej Rahmah programme to improve access to 5G-enabled devices are so important," Teo said.

She added that meaningful connectivity is not just about infrastructure; it is also about affordability and access.

"When Malaysians are able to go online, they are opened to new opportunities in education, employment, entrepreneurship, and social participation."

Teo also lauded HONOR for its contribution to education by establishing the first campus AI Education Laboratory at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI)

By providing subsidised devices across 10 campuses, the brand is targeting future educators to ensure the next generation is prepared for an AI-driven world.

"Malaysia's digital future cannot be built by the government alone," Teo said, calling for continued collaboration between industry leaders and policymakers to ensure innovation served shared aspirations.
