A humanoid robot named Adam has captivated audiences after taking centre stage as a keytarist at a music festival in China
The full-sized robot, developed by Beijing-based PNDbotics, performed alongside renowned Chinese musician Hu Yutong's band at the VOYAGEX Music Festival in Changchun on 12 July 2025.
In a video of the performance, Adam is seen with a keytar strapped on, swaying to the rhythm and tapping the keys with smooth, human-like movements.

The impressive performance was made possible by Adam's advanced design
The 1.6m-tall robot weighs 60kg and features 25 patented actuators, allowing for exceptional agility and precision.
According to its developers, Adam is powered by a proprietary reinforcement learning (RL) algorithm, which was trained through extensive simulations to enable it to move with human-like accuracy.
"This marks a new attempt, both in terms of technological innovation and artistic exploration. PNDbotics has never stopped pushing the boundaries with new endeavors," the robotics firm said in the description of its YouTube video.
