A woman from northeastern China has sparked widespread concern after revealing that her face became severely inflamed and disfigured, allegedly due to not removing her make-up for 22 years

The 37-year-old, known online as Niuyoumian, shared her story earlier this month in a video posted to social media.

The clip shows her face visibly swollen, red, and covered in dense rashes, symptoms she describes as "hormone face".

The condition is linked to prolonged use of corticosteroids or cosmetic chemicals.

"I've tried every possible method, but I'm inherently impatient: I can only accept positive outcomes, not negative ones," she said in her video

"Over the years, I never fully committed to healing my skin. I'd test a product for two days, then switch to another because someone else claimed it worked for them," she added.

This cycle only aggravated her skin, causing it to be itchy, inflamed, and dotted with countless tiny bumps.

Niuyoumian said her skin problems began when she was 14 after using acne cream, which triggered allergic reactions.

She continued wearing make-up from the age of 15, and for the next 22 years, she claims she never once removed it

She cited economic constraints and low-cost cosmetics as contributing factors.

In 2011, she underwent facial injections which, according to her, worsened the condition.

"Before I turned 25, I didn't realise how serious hormone skin issues could be. I thought a little redness or itchiness could be resolved with some ointment. But after 25, everything changed."

She now suffers from rosacea and demodex mites, which she described as causing a sensation "like thousands of tiny ants crawling" on her face.

Niuyoumian advised her followers to not blindly try every beauty product just because someone else claims it works.

"Especially so-called quick fixes," she stressed. "Allow your body to detox naturally, no matter how daunting the process may seem."
