Dr Mahathir was born in Alor Setar, Kedah on 10 July 1925

He was the youngest of nine siblings and the only politician to have served the nation twice as prime minister.

Known as the Father of Modernisation, he established Malaysia's first national car brand, Proton, and spearheaded major infrastructure projects such as the PETRONAS Twin Towers, KL Tower, KLIA, and Putrajaya.

Dr Mahathir now serves as an adviser to the PAS-led state governments of Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Perlis, and continues to be a polarising figure in Malaysian politics, reported FMT.

He and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, 98, have seven children: Marina, Mirzan, Melinda, Mokhzani, Mukhriz, Maizura, and Mazhar.

Despite today's birthday message, Dr Mahathir and Anwar have often clashed publicly, trading barbs over issues such as the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government, the lack of meaningful reforms, and allegations of corruption and cronyism during Dr Mahathir's leadership.
