"I will never forget how proud I was to be wearing my country's name and walking on that stage in front of millions. Also seeing so many Philippine flags around me in the theater…"

Her passion to represent everyone, from every country, captured the hearts of her fans

"But now that I am Miss Universe, I represent you. Wherever you may come from. Whatever your belief is. I am your ally. I am proud to be a Filipina, I am proud to be Asian, I am proud to be a woman and I am proud of my LGBT friends."

She posted this not only to remind us about her responsibilities, but to give us awareness on the pressing issue of [HIV and AIDS] (https://www.aids.gov/news-and-events/awareness-days/asian-pacific-islander/) in the country

"Today is National Asian and Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS awareness day. Slowly but surely, we will be not classified as 'others' anymore. I promise to be the voice of people of color. It's my great honor and responsibility," added Ms. Wurtzbach on her [post] (https://www.instagram.com/p/BFnMTWVLpQE/).
