Annabelle Doll Goes Missing After Its Owner Is Found Dead

Paranormal investigator Dan Rivera was found dead in his hotel room in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the US on 13 July

According to E! Online, he died after leading a ghost tour that featured the Annabelle doll, widely believed to be "demonically possessed".

The doll was reported as missing from the room.

Adams County coroner, Francis Dutrow, and the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) — the group with which Rivera worked — have both stated that the doll was not in the hotel room when Rivera was found

Rivera, who was 54, was on a sold-out 'Devils on the Run' tour at the Soldiers National Orphanage.

The cause of his death is currently unknown and an autopsy is pending, but authorities have stated that his death did not appear suspicious.

The Annabelle doll is a famous artefact in the paranormal world

The infamous doll was investigated by Ed and Lorraine Warren, who claimed it was demonically possessed. Its story was the inspiration for the popular horror movie franchise, 'The Conjuring'.

Following Rivera's death, there has been online speculation about the doll's supposed curse, as well as tributes to Rivera's career.

The NESPR has announced that they will continue the tour in honour of his memory.
