This rainbow-striped bag worn by models on the Balenciaga runway at Paris Fashion Week looks remarkably similar with the Filipino laundry/shopping bag

The bag, which hit the catwalk last Sunday, was part of Georgian-born designer **Demna Gvasalia's debut collection** as creative director for the brand.

Instagram users didn't waste any time in pointing out the similarities between the colorful, large striped bags on the catwalk and the laundry bags that are commonly used in Asian countries that cost less than two pounds.

While the usual palengke bag here in the Philippine cost less than a hundred, the price range of this bag is from US$2,000 (lambskin version) to US$ 10,000 (snakeskin version)

Filipino netizens were quick to notice the bag, labeling the line as #bayongciaga says the [Philippine Star](http://www.philstar.com/fashion-and-beauty/2016/09/06/1621017/balenciagas-latest-luxury-bag-inspired-cheap-palengke-bag).

In fact, Instagram has been awash with people snapping their very own Balenciaga vibes

Gvasalia told The Cut his aim for the brand is focused with the 'every day' look

We're almost not surprised about the very big similarity between the two very practical – but no doubt very different in price – bags.

"My intention is not to make clothes that are completely new, or to be in a museum", he said in an interview. "As long as something is practical and somebody needs it in her wardrobe, then it makes sense to me," he adds.

The designer mixed and matched clashing prints and colors to create flowing dresses with handkerchief hems with red and white striped tights

The other looks seemed to evoke very dowdy secretaries with a sculptural feel. An office suit teamed with polo neck jumpers and large glasses, that makes the look really nerdy but hot.

Flesh was definitely not on show with skin covered by baggy styles or flowing fabric.
