Former World #1 Lee Chong Wei faced current World #3 Lin Dan of China in a thrilling semi-final match in the China Open Super Series Premier Badminton Tournament at the Haixia Olympics Centre in Fuzhou, finally breaking his losing jinx against his arch rival

The former world #1 put up a superb performance to beat 5-time world champion Lin Dan in an epic one hour and 31-minute men's singles semi-final match, Saturday, 14 November

In the match held at the fully-packed Haixia Olympic Sports Centre in Fuzhou, China, the national badminton ace went down against the former Olympic and Asian Games champion in the first set before stepping up his tempo to chalk up a 17-21, 21-19, 21-19 victory in 92 minutes, thus reducing his meeting record against Lin Dan to 10-25.

For the record, Chong Wei has won back-to back the United States Open and Canadian Open, both in June, and also the French Open Super Series last month, after serving an eight-month suspension for a doping offence.
