A middle-aged man in China has caused a stir online after allegedly cross-dressing to secretly film sexual encounters with more than 1,000 men and sharing the videos online

The man, nicknamed "Nanjing Uncle Red", reportedly installed a hidden camera in his flat to record himself with male visitors.

According to South China Morning Post, he then shared the footage in an online group, profiting from a membership fee of 150 yuan (approximately RM89) per person.

Jiao, said to be in his 30s, used heavy make-up, long wigs, and women's clothing to attract his victims.

Some of Jiao's victims reportedly recognised themselves in the leaked videos and reported him to the police

Despite warnings from authorities not to share the videos, close-up images of the men's faces continued to circulate online.

This led to some being identified by friends and family.

One man was identified by his mother as an English teacher at a kindergarten after appearing in one of the videos

Meanwhile, a woman recognised her fiancé in one of the headshots.

The case has ignited a heated debate across Chinese social media and raised significant public health concerns.

Police said Jiao's claim of hooking up with 1,691 men is exaggerated, but declined to provide an exact figure.
