Motorists will enjoy a 50% toll discount on 14 and 15 February, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations
According to Bernama, the discount was announced by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi on Saturday, 7 February.
The 50% reduction will be in effect for 48 hours, from 12.01am on Saturday, 14 February, until 11.59pm on Sunday, 15 February.
Alexander Nanta said the move will involve about RM19.5 million in compensation to highway concessionaires. The decision was agreed upon during a Cabinet meeting as part of the government's efforts to safeguard the wellbeing of Malaysians.

The discount is expected to help ease travel costs for those returning to their hometowns, going on holiday during the festive period, as well as ahead of Ramadan
The toll reduction applies to Class 1 vehicles (private cars) at all toll plazas, and Class 2 vehicles (light lorries) at the Penang Bridge only. It does not apply to tolls heading to Singapore, namely the Sultan Iskandar CIQ Complex and the Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza.
Alexander Nanta said the selected dates aim to help manage traffic flow, optimise highway operations, and allow better coordination of additional logistics at rest and service (R&R) areas.
Highway users are advised to plan their journeys, follow speed limits and road signs, and check recommended travel times on the PLUS mobile app.
