The remains of 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir were reburied at the Tanjung Ubi Muslim Cemetery in Sipitang, Sabah at 1.15am today, 11 August, following an eight-hour post-mortem ordered in the re-opening of the investigation into her death
According to the New Straits Times, the reburial took about 30 minutes after the arrival of her remains at the cemetery at 12.41am.
The post-mortem was carried out at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital (HQE) in Kota Kinabalu on Sunday, 10 August, starting at 11am and concluding just before 8pm.

The hospital compound was crowded on Sunday as reporters and members of the public gathered to follow developments in the case
One of the lawyers representing Zara's family, Shahlan Jufri, confirmed the completion of the post-mortem shortly after the procedure.

Zara, a student at SMKA Tun Datu Mustapha, was found unconscious in a drain around 3am on 16 July after allegedly falling from the third floor of her dormitory in Papar
She died the next day while receiving treatment at HQE. No post-mortem was conducted at the time.
Her death drew public attention after allegations of bullying surfaced on social media.
Last Wednesday, 6 August, the Attorney-General's Chambers, at the family's request, instructed police to reopen the investigation and exhume her remains.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun previously said they had not ruled out the possibility of bullying in the case.
Thousands gathered across multiple locations in Sabah on Sunday for #JusticeForZara rallies, demanding a transparent investigation into her death.
