Zahidi Zainul: I Want To Apologise To Veveonah Mosibin

He said that he would like to correct the statement he made about the Sabahan student.

Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin has now offered his apology to a Sabahan student, whom he accused of lying in order to become popular for entertainment

In a statement posted last night, 3 September, Zahidi Zainul said that he had received "inaccurate information" when he questioned 18-year-old Veveonah Mosibin's claim that she had to climb a tree and stay on top of it for 24 hours to get a better Internet connection for her online examinations in June.

The Deputy Minister then apologised to the student, whose claim he previously said was a "fabrication".

Here's what Zahidi Zainul said in his clarification remark

"Referring to the debate in Dewan Negara earlier today, 3 September, I would like to correct the statement I made about Veveonah Mosibin that she did not sit for her online exams sitting on a tree," read the statement.

"I have received inaccurate information in regards to this during the question and answer session. I want to apologise to Veveonah Mosibin and will make a correction in Dewan Negara on Monday."
