Police Confirm Death Of Year 4 Student In Seremban Is Due To Pressure To The Neck

Investigators have recorded 27 statements to establish the sequence of events prior to the student's death.

The death of a Year Four student who was found unconscious in the boys' toilet of a public school in Seremban on Wednesday, 1 October, was caused by pressure to the neck

According to Harian Metro, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the finding was based on a post-mortem conducted at the Forensic Medical Unit of Hospital Rembau on Thursday, 2 October.

"The autopsy found that the cause of death was pressure to the neck. The examination also revealed no other injuries on the victim's body," he said.

He added that investigators have so far recorded 27 statements, with efforts continuing to establish the sequence of events.

"Police urge the public to allow space for a transparent investigation, which will be conducted with full sensitivity to the provisions of the Child Act 2001, as the case also involves child witnesses.

"The public is also reminded not to make baseless speculation that could disrupt the process," he said.

The boy's remains were released from Hospital Rembau's Forensic Medical Unit at around 6.30pm, following nearly three hours of post-mortem procedures

The 10-year-old was later laid to rest at the Forest Heights Muslim Cemetery after Maghrib prayers.

Earlier, police said the case had been classified under Section 507C of the Penal Code, relating to bullying through communication.

Alzafny also confirmed that the victim was first found unconscious in the school toilet before being rushed to a private clinic.
