A hot mic recently captured an unusual conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping

During China's Victory Day military parade celebrating the end of World War II — an event also attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim — Chinese state broadcaster CCTV captured what appeared to be part of a private conversation.

As Putin, Xi, and North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong Un walked at the head of a delegation of more than two dozen foreign leaders, Putin's interpreter could be heard saying in Chinese: "Biotechnology is continuously developing."

And after an inaudible moment, the interpreter added: "Human organs can be continuously transplanted. The longer you live, the younger you become, and you can even achieve immortality."

Xi, who was off-camera, then responded in Chinese: "Predictions are that, in this century, humans may live to be 150 years old."

Kim was seen smiling and looking in the direction of the other two world leaders, but it is not clear if he was part of the conversation.

Putin reportedly confirmed the statements later on the Russian state agency Tass, saying, "Modern recovery methods, medical methods, even surgical ones dealing with the replacement of organs, enable humanity to hope for an active life to last longer than it does today."

"Average ages are different in different countries, but life expectancy will increase significantly,"

The parade marked the first time the leaders of China, Russia, and North Korea were seen together in public

The 24 other foreign dignitaries at the parade included India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

Meanwhile, Anwar said the event was of great importance in today's geopolitical landscape, where the international system is increasingly undermined.

"For me, the celebration is a reminder that a nation must be free, independent and sovereign. A country's independence must be respected.

"Our experience of embracing peace and resolution after World War II, and how China rose against violence and colonialism, should serve as a lesson for today's society, especially in our region," he told Malaysian media at the end of his visit.

US President Donald Trump, meanwhile, has taken to social media to accuse Xi of conspiring with Putin and Kim against the US.
