Tammy, a 45-year-old woman from Michigan in the US, recently won a RM422,000 (USD100,000) lottery prize thanks to ChatGPT
According to NBC Chicago, Tammy used the generative AI tool to pick her numbers for the Powerball draw, a popular lottery game in the US, on 6 September 2025.
She ended up matching four of the five main numbers and also got the special Powerball number right. Since she had also chosen the "Power Play" option, her usual USD50,000 (RM211,200) prize was doubled.
She initially thought she had won USD50,000 (RM211,200), but later discovered the Power Play multiplier had been applied, doubling her prize money to USD100,000 (RM422,000).
"My husband and I were in total disbelief," she said.
She said she plans to use the money to pay off her home
The rest of the winnings will go into her savings, according to NBC Chicago.
The Michigan Lottery reminded punters that all lottery drawings are random and cannot be predicted by AI or other number-generation tools.
