Woman Burned Husband To Death Because He Refused To Tell Her His Phone’s Passcode

He had allegedly hit his wife after denying her request.

On 15 January, an argument between a couple in East Lombok, Indonesia over a phone passcode ended with a tragic death

26-year-old Dedi Purnama, was repairing the roof tiles of his Desa Pandawangi home when his wife, 25-year-old Ilham Cahyani, asked for the passcode to unlock his phone.

According to Harian Metro, she had suspected that he was cheating on her.

After Dedi denied her request, he allegedly hit his wife in anger.

In retaliation, Ilham poured a can of gasoline over her husband's body and set him on fire with a lighter.

An eyewitness told Detik News that he immediately ran over to the couple's house to help extinguish the flames.

After two days of treatment at Keruak Health Center, Dedi passed away as a result of the burns he had sustained

Ilham is being detained at East Lombok Regional Police Station while police investigate the case, okenews reported.
