A Seberang Perai woman has died in a tragic accident after picking up her daughter from school
According to China Press, the 53-year-old victim, Low Hooi Meng, had just picked up her daughter from Jit Sin High School at around 2pm when her vehicle collided with a lorry at a nearby intersection.
The daughter, who was trapped in the back seat with leg and eye injuries, was rescued by firefighters around 3pm. The Form 1 student was then rushed to Sungai Bakap Hospital for treatment.
However, Low was pronounced dead at the scene.
Low's vehicle collided with the lorry shortly after students were dismissed from school.

Firefighters from the Sungai Bakap Fire and Rescue Department used specialised equipment to free the two victims after receiving a call at 2.45pm. The rescue operation concluded around 4pm.
Low's body was handed to police and been sent for an autopsy.
Seberang Perai police have yet to issue an official statement, and the case remains under investigation.
