Woman Dragged On Road After Clinging Onto Bag During Snatch Theft In Johor

The victim was reportedly dragged for several metres.

A woman was recently captured on CCTV being dragged along a road after her bag was snatched in Muar, Johor

According to China Press, the incident took place at around 2.30pm on 13 April.

CCTV footage of the incident was posted on Sunday, 14 April, by Twitter user Hilmi Adi Ruzaini.

In the video, the victim was seen walking along an alley when a snatch thief rode past her on a motorcycle and grabbed her bag

Still clutching onto the bag, the woman was reportedly dragged for several metres.

According to the post, the victim was admitted into hospital after suffering injuries from the incident.

The suspect has yet to be arrested at the time of writing

If caught, the suspect could be charged under Section 394 of the Penal Code for attempting to commit robbery and voluntarily causing hurt to someone.

The suspect is liable to a fine, whipping, and a maximum 20 years in jail if found guilty.
