Here's Why 5 Smart Selangor Buses In Subang Jaya Were Suspended Recently
Routes for SJ01, SJ02, SJ03, SJ04, and SJ05 were suspended.
The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has clarified that the temporary suspension of the Smart Selangor bus service on five routes under the Subang Jaya City Council was not due to any processing delays on its part
In a statement yesterday, 26 May, APAD clarified that it was the bus service operator, SKS Coachbuilders Sdn Bhd, that was late in submitting its permit applications.
The agency said the company only submitted relevant documentation on 25 and 26 April.
Earlier, commuters in Subang Jaya were left inconvenienced by the sudden suspension of services on routes SJ01, SJ02, SJ03, SJ04, and SJ05, with many alleging that the disruption was due to delays by APAD.
APAD clarified that this was a late submission, as new permit applications require 14 working days to be processed

It added that the operator failed to meet several key requirements in its applications, including compliance with GPS installation standards and the submission of valid approval offer letters, which further delayed the application.
As a result, APAD had only granted the operator conditional approval, as of 8 May.
However, APAD confirmed that SKS Coachbuilders met all necessary criteria and conditions by 15 May, receiving full approval during a Licensing Committee Meeting (eJKP) on 22 May, before being authorised to print their approval letters through APAD's iSPKP system starting 23 May.
APAD stressed its ongoing commitment to providing fair and transparent licensing services to support the development of a safe public transport system
"Therefore, all public and freight transport operators are reminded to strictly comply with the established criteria and conditions.
"Adherence is essential not only to safeguard their operations but also to prevent disruptions that adversely affect commuters who rely on these services daily," the agency told Bernama.
