A video of a man questioning the lack of Chinese and Indian food at highway rest and relaxation (R&R) stops has gone viral

In the 45-second video, he filmed the food stalls at Gunung Semanggol R&R Southbound in Perak while raising the issue.

"Look at this R&R. There are all Malay stalls. There are no Chinese and Indian stalls at all.

"What are they going to eat? Everyone uses this R&R. Do you think the Chinese eat spicy food like the kind Malays make? Do you think Indians eat beef?" he asked.

The man ended the video by urging the R&R management to add Chinese and Indian food stalls.

Despite the man's complaint, netizens argued it was a non-issue since Malaysians of all races can enjoy Malay food.

"Don't worry. We, Chinese, can eat nasi kandar and nasi ayam," read a top comment.

"It's okay, we Chinese people enjoy all kinds of food. I also like Malay food: nasi lemak, bihun soto, lontong, ayam penyet. I really love eating ayam rendang. Every morning, I always buy nasi lemak from my Malay friend," wrote a Facebook user.

Another added, "There are people of other races running businesses at the R&R. Maybe he's never stopped by there. Has he been living in a cave?"

Some Facebook users also said fast food restaurants are common at R&R stops, offering plenty of choices for everyone.

However, several netizens noted that vegetarians may struggle to find food at these rest stops and urged operators to offer a more inclusive selection.
