If you've just checked the official BUDI95 portal and received an "ineligible" result for the new subsidised RON95 price of RM1.99 per litre, don't worry, it's often due to a data mismatch that you can fix

Here's a simple, step-by-step guide on what to do next.

Step 1: Read the reason on the portal

The most important thing to do first is read the reason for your ineligibility, which will be displayed on the portal.

The system is designed to tell you exactly where the problem lies. This information is your key to solving the issue quickly.

Step 2: Know which agency to visit

The reason provided will point you to one of two government departments.

You need to visit the Road Transport Department (JPJ) if the reason is related to your driving license. This covers most cases, including:

  • Your license is shown as inactive or expired.
  • Your license is not an approved type or class.
  • The system cannot find your active driving license record.

You need to visit the National Registration Department (JPN) if the reason is related to your MyKad. This is less common but may happen if:

  • There is an issue with your MyKad data in the central database.
  • Your MyKad number requires further verification.

Step 3: Update your details at the counter

When you visit the correct department, make sure to bring your MyKad and driving license.

Inform the officer at the counter that you are there to update your information for the BUDI95 subsidy programme.

They will be able to check their system, identify the error, and make the necessary corrections.

Step 4: Check your eligibility again

Once the officer confirms that your information has been updated, you can go back to the official BUDI95 portal and re-check your eligibility.

Once the government's central database reflects the changes, your status should be successfully updated to "eligible".
