A storm, possibly a tornado, struck several areas in Meru and Kuala Langat, Selangor yesterday, 15 October, damaging homes, schools, and vehicles
According to Selangor Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) director Colonel (PA) Fazlisyah Muslim, the storm was reported in areas including Jalan Mohd Sharif 1, Taman Daya Meru, Jalan Puding, Jalan Paip, and around Sijangkang.
Fazlisyah identified SK Sijangkang Jaya in Kuala Langat as the worst-affected area

He added that no official information has been received so far about the opening of new relief centres in Teluk Panglima Garang and Kuala Langat.
Viral videos on social media showed a powerful storm, followed by what appeared to be a tornado, causing major damage in Teluk Panglima Garang
Buildings at SK Sijangkang, SK Kampung Medan, and SRA Kampung Medan all suffered damage.
The vortex was so powerful that it uprooted road barriers and sent them flying into the air. Footage taken by residents showed severe damage at SK Sijangkang, with walls collapsing and the school's roof completely torn off.
