Firefighters from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station were puzzled by a strange emergency on Monday, 23 February
In a viral video posted on the department's social media pages, firefighters could be seen standing about, wondering how to solve the situation before them.
The source of their bewilderment was apparent as a stork had become trapped in an awkward position between the poles of a lamp post.
The video, captioned in Malay, "A stork was trapped and successfully rescued", drew thousands of views
Although the video did not show how the bird was rescued, firefighters are believed to have used ladders to reach the trapped animal.
