The Internet Goes On An Emotional Rollercoaster Over Lipton Iced Tea’s Prank
Apparently, April Fools' came early, and so did the emotional damage.
Lipton recently brewed up absolute chaos by announcing that its beloved Peach Iced Tea was getting discontinued
The brand's social media channels mourned the loss with a post titled "Rest In Peach", featuring an image of the iconic can adorned with angel wings.
"You may have heard that our iconic Peach Lipton Ice Tea flavour is getting discontinued. We know — it hurts (sorry if we've ruined your go-to afternoon chill bev)," read part of the message.
The Internet did not take it well.
Fans were steeped in disbelief, with reactions ranging from "WHAT WHY????? WHO ASKED FOR THIS????" to pleas for reassurance that it was all a joke.

Less than 24 hours later, Lipton spilled the tea that it was all an elaborate prank
They confessed to getting their dates mixed up, stating: "Oops, is it still March? Got my dates mixed up… thought it was April Fools already! I'd never take away your favourite flavour, pookies."
