A chill board game night turned chaotic for a group of friends after police, acting on a 'tip-off' from a neighbour, raided their home in Thailand
In a now-viral TikTok video shared by user @nnannthc, five friends are seen sitting comfortably on the floor, casually playing a card-based board game.
Everything was calm until four police officers, in full gear, ran up to the house, slid open the glass door, and barged in, ready to make arrests.
"You almost gave me a heart attack. What's wrong?" one of the players exclaimed in shock.
One officer, realising the mix-up, simply responded, "What are you all doing? Oh, got it," before awkward chuckles filled the room.
No one was arrested
The officers apologised and left after being assured that it was just a regular family board game, not gambling. A suspicious neighbour had reported them after seeing the group playing with cards in a brightly lit room clearly visible from outside, and assumed the worst.
Speaking to ThaiRath, the TikToker said they had been hosting a barbecue before deciding to move indoors to play the board game, reported Thaiger.
In the comments, another netizen claimed she had experienced something similar, where her game night was also mistaken for a gambling session.
While many found the video hilarious, others criticised the police for acting so urgently over a harmless board game while turning a blind eye to actual illegal gambling dens in the country.
