Actor and TV host Fikry Ibrahim's marriage is on the rocks, just four months after tying the knot with Siti Khalizah Alihan

Siti Khalizah filed for divorce at the Federal Territories Syariah Court this morning, 19 June, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the separation.

She arrived at court around 9.40am dressed in all black, while Fikry was absent from the proceedings, according to Berita Harian.

"This was the first mention of the divorce application filed by our client. The defendant, Fikry, did not show up today," Siti's Syariah lawyer Wan Muhammad Afiq Mohd Razib was quoted as saying by Kosmo!

He added that the divorce was filed under Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law (Federal Territories) Act 1984, and the next hearing has been set for 10 September.

"For now, both parties are still open to discussions. There's still a chance for reconciliation, and we're waiting for the defendant's response," the lawyer said.

Siti Khalizah declined to comment on the proceedings

"I'm sorry, I can't say anything for now," she told reporters before leaving, visibly emotional.

Interestingly, the couple professed their love for each other by posting a seemingly affectionate photo on their Instagram accounts just 48 hours prior.

"Knowing that I'll never love another soul the way that I love yours – KA," wrote Siti Khalizah in her caption, tagging @fikryibrahim.

Fikry's post is no less romantic: "Thou art the hush that tempers all my tempests, the hush wherein my restless heart finds home. My first and only love."

Fikry and Siti Khalizah tied the knot on 12 February this year in a closed-door ceremony at a mosque in Kedah

News of the wedding only surfaced after a makeup artist posted photos of the couple online.

At the time, Fikry explained that he wasn't trying to hide the marriage but preferred to keep things private until everything was "certain".

"It wasn't about keeping it secret. I just believe that if something's not confirmed yet, it's better not to share it," he said during a segment of Melodi, which he co-hosts with Ain Edruce.

At the time, he had also denied speculation that he was pressured into the marriage, explaining that his seemingly sombre expression in the wedding photos was likely because he was deep in thought, reflecting on the responsibilities of being a husband and caring for his ageing mother.
